Another Bank Robbery in Coral Springs!

Experienced bandits nab cash at Washington Mutual Bank on Wiles Road
Coral Springs August 11,2006:

For the 2nd time in less than a month, another bank was held up in Coral Springs.  The Washington Bank located at 10585 Wiles Road, was robbed on August 11 at 10:36 am when two men wearing black masks and  carrying semi-automatic weapons walked in and ordered everyone to the ground.  They knew what they were doing.

These same bandits had  hit 5 other banks in Palm beach County since October of 2005. That became apparent when the police had found out that in all cases they had used the same stolen vehicle, a Red 4-door Taurus as the get-away car.

While the two men were robbing the bank another one was outside the bank in communication with the others via walkie-talkies.   A teller told them there was no money in the vault but they knew otherwise.   They had obviously timed it exactly to when the bank received its delivery of cash from the armored truck that morning.

The previous bank holdup  in the city was on July 21 when two men were caught after robbing the Region’s Bank on University Drive.  However, in the case of the Washington Mutual Bank, the robbers got away and are still being sought by the police.  Anyone knowing any information should contact the Coral Springs Sgt. Jim Milford at 954-346-1342 or CrimeStoppers at 954-493-8477.
