When Buckling Up Is Not Enough KIDS AT RISK

Many parents assume that their children are riding safely in vehicles. After all, the state law requires children to ride in safety seats only until age three and many children have outgrown their child safety seat. Parents incorrectly believe that once children reach four years old and 40 pounds that they’re ready for an adult seat belt. The only way a child can use the adult lap and shoulder belt appropriately is with a booster seat. Reflections of July 4th: Citizenship: New Americans

To most Americans, Citizenship in the United States is something that was acquired simply by being born in this country.  However, millions of people from other countries become U.S. citizens by applying for it. The United States Immigration and Naturalization Service reviews their applications every year to determine who is eligible to share in the freedom of this country.  Every year the rules and regulations governing entry change. Sometimes you are granted citizenship due to your special political circumstances. July 4 Reflection – Fireworks Made in China

July 4th  is the celebration of the independence of our great country from England. It is the celebration of the birth of our ideology and the start of a new concept to that period of time. The concept of Freedom and Democracy. Then isn’t it ironic that the ‘holy’ holiday of independence is being consecrated with Fireworks produced by a communist nation that doesn’t have any respect for our values? The fireworks that we use to sparkle and explode our declaration of independence are made in communist China. As Americans, we should be ashamed in using them on this Holiday….
