Why are we broadcasting the Coral Springs Police and Fire Radio Transmissions ? General Public Interest : There are many people interested in the workings of the Police and Fire Departments. Scanner sites are located throughout the United States and Canada that broadcast their city's Police and Fire department dispatch transmissions. We decided to join them. Appreciation of the Police and Fire Departments: Few people realize just how busy both the Police and Fire Rescue Departments of Coral Springs can get, especially during the day. The broadcasting of the dispatch gives you a picture that the spending of your tax dollars on the safety of our city is well worth it. The one thing that should stick out in your mind is the professionalism of our Police and Fire Departments. Under sometimes stressful emergency situations they remain calm and fully under control. Perhaps, giving the public the ability to 'Listen In' on what's going on will improve our ability to thwart crime in the neighborhoods which we live in. It is not against the law, as long as you are not using the information for any criminal activity. Article 843.16 (The Florida Scanner Law) states:
