August 29 2007:  First a student is arrested for making a bomb threat, and now a student is stabbed.  All this happening at Coral Springs High School.  It's enough that grade averages are lowering every year, but security and safety of students being lowered should be a concern of parents of children attending Coral Springs schools. 

Coral Springs Police have arrested a suspect in connection with a stabbing that occurred Tuesday afternoon at Coral Springs High School.  Aundre Campbell, 19, of North Lauderdale was arrested on one count of Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon after he stabbed Tylus Gaskin, 17, of Margate at 7201 West Sample Road around 3:40p.m.Tuesday.  Campbell who is an ex-student felt Gaskin disrespected his sister.  Gaskin received two stabbed wounds, one to his lower abdomen and one to his upper right thigh. Gaskin was transported to North Broward Medical Center serious condition.   Campbell was charged with Aggravated Battery with a Deadly Weapon and is being held at Broward County Jail on $10,000 bond.

On August 28, 2007, Coral Springs Police arrested a suspect in connection with a false bomb threat that occurred that morning.  Matthew Sacks, 15, of Coral Springs was arrested on one count of False Report of Planting a Bomb after he told police that a black male in his forties told him that there was a bomb at the Coral Springs High School located at 7201 West Sample Road around 7:10a.m. Investigation revealed that Sacks lied about a black male telling him there was a bomb at the school in an attempt not to go to school.  Sacks was transferred to the Juvenile Assessment Center.
